Vodafone Ghana Music Awards: The Board Must Be Neutral To All Musicians – Guru

Ghanaian rapper and fashion designer, Maradona Yeboah Adjei, popularly known as Guru, has stated that, the VGMA board should be neutral to all musicians.

According to the rapper in an interview with Doreen Avio on Hitz FM, he said he has also had issues with VGMA and its not because of CharterHouse but the board ie people representing the artists, making sure they give the deserved artist, that is were his concern comes in.

Well, he further explained that, “there are individuals in this board in most of my competitors camps, they play rolls and some even own a record label and you bring these people to decide who wins this, it doesn’t make sense to me”. In his view it should be a neutral thing. The host then told him that, some people say most of his song that he releases is wrong timing that is why he does not win the VGMA awards.

The rapper also kicked against that statement that its a lie, “give people what is due to them” he added. The rapper also stated that, he would not blame anybody, “you can hate me because without challenges you cannot grow”. We are also surprised because ever since Guru came into the industry he has never won the VGMA’s and sometimes we do not understand. He has a lot of hit songs too but time will tell.
