In a sighted by fredericknuetei.com he said; “The target is to bring the cup home by winning the AFCON in 2022. We have to go a step further than the second places recorded in 1992, 2010, and 2015 and bring the forty (40) years drought to an end,” he stated during a breakfast meeting with CEOs of corporate Ghana on Monday, April 26, 2021.

“We must also reach at least, the semi-finals of the World Cup in Qatar. Our exploits in South Africa in 2010 where we reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup tells us that once properly prepared, we have the quality and talent to match any of the best teams in the world,” he added. He, therefore, asked the CEOs to help government raise the targeted amount of $25million for the two tournaments. The government, he said already earmarked $10million.
