Singers are dominating because fellow rappers are not united – Don Itchi fumes (Video)

Rapper Don Itchi sat in as a guest for the new episode of Kobby Kyei news live. The name Don Itchi even though not a mainstream artist is a well-known name in the Ghanaian rap game.

In this edition, Don Itchi revealed to Kobby Kyei that he began to have a passion for music when a challenge from his teacher helped him to discovered his creative skills in primary 6. As a result, he decided to put in much seriousness in the music & dance subject.

Furthermore, Don Ichi talked about his time under the tutelage of renowned music producer Appietus; the ups, the downs, opportunities, and the knowledge acquired throughout the period.

When Kobby Kyei quizzed about why his journey to the mainstream has delayed, Itchy confessed that his level of spirituality needed an upgrade. He explained that he has learned a lot and gathered some level of experience but his spirituality. “….right now I believe I have to work on my level of spirituality. I need to get closer to God than I am at the moment..”

Don Itchi in his response to a question on the ‘state of rap music’ and why singers in the country are dominating and flying higher than rappers, he emphatically blamed disunity. Don further explained that the competitive nature of the rap game makes every rapper feel bossy hence the disunity. Unlike singers, it is rare to see rappers feature each other on songs. He accused rappers Teephlow and Lyrical Joe(LJ) for giving him numerous excuses when he invited them for a feature.

Ghanaian actress, Lydia Forson has warned people not to tag her as a ‘So-Called Celebrity’.

The outspoken actress instructed them to address her with her name instead of the ‘So-Called Celebrity’ tag. She posted on her Facebook page: “Please don’t call me “so-called” whenever you’re referring to me as a celebrity. You can take the world, wrap it in pepper, and shove it up to your burro.

That’s why I don’t lay with so many of you and never will; because when you need a favor, donations, etc we’re worthy of the title, but when it doesn’t favor you, you try to discredit us by any means necessary.“I’m Lydia Forson, before anything else, address me as such so you don’t constantly feel like you’re doing me favors by addressing me as a celebrity. Also, lose my number.” she wrote. What do you think about this?

The Covid-19 has affected practically everyone and musicians have been sharing their stories on how it affected them. 

Gospel artiste of the year Diana Hamilton, also shared her experience. She was on the Daybreak Hitz show this morning with Andy Dosty and she explained how the Covid-19 affected her and her career. She said it worked for her, “as a child of God, l know nothing comes by chance. I think prior to Covid or 3-4 years ago, it was in the news, we can’t get to know you, you are not accessible, you don’t leave here.

Then l started building social media and started getting close to people. Then Covid came and we had the chance to do this facebook live and l had the chance to talk to people, and people to call in to speak to me. That helped me and one of the biggest things was the fact that, l was able to over come the fear of l have to be in the studio with the producer”.

She also stated that, it build her confidence level to work with people when they are not there, and also helped her husband figure his way out in doing vocals.
