Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy were the only African Artistes who made it to the first 10 spot, Best Dancehall Artistes of all time list released

Published

on

Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy were the only African Artistes who made it to the over 500 list of the Best Dancehall Artiste of all time ranked by world ranker.

Shatta Wale placed second whiles his brother Stonebwoy took the eight position respectively.

Ranker gave details of the compilation and why the listed artiste deserve their positions.

Below are the screenshot.

The list was complied based on whether the artistes are Jamaican superstars or underground dancehall artistes silently putting out new dancehall songs – the top dancehall bands on this list have enough of a fanbase to sell out music halls and theatres around the world.

While gdancehall started in the late 1980s in Jamaica as an offshoot of reggae, the genre saw a new wave of popularity come in when current crossover artistes like Rihanna and M.I. Abaga introduced elements of dancehall to a broader audience of hip hop and R&B fans.

Those who have fallen in love with the genre through current songs can go back and rediscover top dancehall artistes like Yellowman and Eek-a-Mouse who were must-listened for any fan of dancehall.

This represents a look at greatest dancehall of all time across many decades since the most famous dancehall artistes ever are listed. The order is decided by actual fans of the best dancehall music.
