Nollywood veteran actor Chiwetalu Agu has said that money plays a big role in the endorsement of politicians by some celebrities.

In a recent chat with Punch, the movie star described the recent trend of some celebrities openly endorsing certain politics as a lack of integrity and morality.

“These days, a lot of things have to do with money. Money can sway people. People are not patient again. What they count is what money does for them today, not tomorrow,” he said.

“Nobody is patient because things are hard. Integrity, morality and conscience have disappeared. What we are doing in Nigeria today puts me off.”

Agu also expressed worry over how cancerous corruption has become under President Buhari’s administration despite the promises he made to curb its spread.

“Buhari said that he would come and fight corruption to the finish, to put corruption in a very dire situation. But when he came, money began to exchange hands,” he added.

“Everything has gone gaga. Integrity no longer counts. I have lost hope in the (current) regime. As a matter of fact, what Buhari is doing is not leadership; it is ‘rulership’.”

Agu has been a huge critic of the current administration. He, however, got into trouble with the government in 2021, after he was spotted wearing a Biafran flag outfit.

Grammy award winner, Damini Ogulu better known as Burna Boy, has said he’s grossly misunderstood by people and it’s his fault!
Speaking in a recent interview with a British magazine ‘Dazed’, the 31-year-old singer said a lot of people don’t understand him because he has never given the public a chance to know and understand his personality.

The self-styled ‘African Giant’, who leads a quiet life and majorly shares things about his career and performance on local and global stages, said he tried to use his latest album ‘Love, Damini’ to give people a glimpse into his life.

“I tried to use this album to allow people to get closer to me.”
“My music will be here long after I’m gone, even after my children’s children. It’s a stamp in time for those who have a reality like mine”

“Whatever I say, even if it’s the truth, you guys will spin it,” he added.

, Why Ghanaians hate Shatta Wale so much? – Ruthy quizzes following Shatta’s absence from Global Citizen Festival, Frederick Nuetei

The ‘dancehall king inna di whole’ was absent on the night when two of Ghana’s finest collections of ‘S’ musicians impressed attendees of the Global Citizen Festival.

When Sarkodie and Stonebwoy performed at Black Star Square on September 24, 2022, Shatta Wale was noticeably absent.

Before anybody else took the stage, Stonebwoy wowed the audience with his high-energy performance.

However, Sarkodie reportedly stole the show with his dynamic and emotional sets, as shared on social media.

Shatta Wale was not present, but other Ghanaian artists such as Kwesi Arthur and Yaw Tog were.

Questions over why Shatta Wale did not attend the event have sparked discussions on social media with Ruth asking a thought-provoking question.

According to Ruthy, the absence of Shatta Wale at the Global Citizen Festival is a clear sign of sabotage and hatred on the part of the so-called industry gatekeeper and players.

Consequently, she feels the hatred for Shatta Wale has become so real that he was not billed to perform at the biggest musical event ever in Ghana for the past decade – Global Citizen Festival.
