‘I’m Not A Coward’ – Shatta Wale Emphatically States

Published

on

“It’s not like l waited for two years to release ‘Little Tip’, Shatta is not a coward”.

As we are all well aware of his nature, Shatta Wale is not the type that leaves a battle field without giving his opponents a fair share or a feel of what makes him “Shatta Wale”. Going back to all the beefs he has had with a number of people in the creative arts industry as a whole, the musician never accepts defeat nor steps back without putting his opponents to in their rightful place, either in a song or social media post.

However, the dancehall artist did not show such energy towards Sarkodie, when the latter released a diss song to him two years ago. Shatta Wale did not reply, neither did he comment on the song, which amazed his fans who wondered what was wrong, as this was not the Shatta Wale they know. What he did instead, was to post a picture on social media of him sitting on an acquired brand new E-class Mercedes with a customized number plate as “Advice1”. The artist remained silent, regardless of how the song was trending, as many thought the ‘diss lord’ has conceded defeat.

Shatta wale

Sarkodie, a Ghanaian rapper, released a song he titled “Advice” to reply Shatta Wale on the numerous radio interviews that he has granted to just call him – Sarkodie – broke. The rapper has kept his cool for a long time as Shatta Wale kept calling him a broke rapper, but his fans got annoyed and pushed him till he released the song. They felt their favorite artist was being disrespected for far too long.

In the “Advice” song, Sarkodie stated that he had talked to his long time friend, Shatta Wale, on several occasions to stop engaging in such activities, and that these are unnecessary and not healthy for the industry, to sit for interviews and be calling him broke. But Shatta Wale won’t listen.

Sarkodie

In a recent interview with Hitz Fm’s Andy Dosty, host of Day Break Hitz, the dancehall king stated that he is not that type that runs from a battle. When asked why he waited for two years to reply Sarkodie with a diss song titled “Little Tip”, he said, “Andy, Shatta is not a coward”. He further stated that he recorded the song the very day Sarkodie released “Advice”. But why he ended up not releasing it was because people around him “begged” him not to, for the sake of his upcoming Reign album launch.

“They were just begging me not to release the song because of my Reign album, they told me not to give him attention”, he said to Andy. On a lighter note, he told the radio host that he had released it because the song was getting too old, hence attracting “cobweb” so he had not choice than to drop the song to teach the rapper a lesson.

”Little Tip” is a diss song Shatta wale recently released to Sarkodie which was supposed to be his reply to Sarkodie’s Advice, which sparked as much controversies, comments, and received attention as Advice did.

Andy later asked him why he preaches unity and turns around to fight his colleagues, and he said this, “Andy, you people always misinform the public. I don’t do that. I am a freedom fighter. These little bragging here and there that are backed with lies won’t help the young artists who look up to us”.
