Legendary rapper Reggie Rockstone, affectionately referred to as the hip-life grandpapa has explained why he retired from music some years ago. 

According to him, corruption had taken the seat in the industry and even so, many DJ’s demand money from musicians for their music air play hence his decision. Reggie is a pioneer of a hip-life movement in Ghana first announce his retirement from music in 2003 at the God Sent Spacefon Legend Night.

However, in an interview with George Quaye on Showbiz A-Z on Joy FM, he described his retirement as fake and explained why, “the reason why l had to go on this fake retirement was because, at the time everything we had fought for, as far as the whole hip-life movement became wanted now and payola kicked in heavy.

And l’m about music, l love music”. For him, he was looking out for real talent like Obrafour, Lord Kenya and the likes. He is also far from retiring from the music scene anytime soon.

Social media users reacts after Reggie Rockstone and Serwaa Amihere clash over Akuapem Poloo’s sentence

Hip-pop Grandpapa, Reggie Rockstone and Broadcast Journalist, Serwaa Amihere have clashed on Twitter following the news of Akuapem Poloo’s sentencing.

In social media banter, the two were seen arguing about the trending issue as Serwaa Amihere expressed why some people are still begging on Akuapem Poloo’s behalf after she pleaded guilty to the charges leveled against her. 

Serwaa Amihere wrote on Twitter; “A person is convicted on her OWN PLEA, this means that the person accepts that he or she is wrong. The natural consequence of pleading guilty on your own volition means that you are ready to be punished. How are we asking for this person to be freed….” 

However, Reggie Rockstone also quizzed Serwaa Amihere if she has a child. Reggie’s tweet read: “WE ASK COS WE ARE HUMAN AND ALL BLEED RED AND FEEL FOR THIS PERSONS PLIGHT IS WHY IT IS OK TO ASK AND MORE SO ABOUT HER SON! DO YOU HAVE A CHILD? #empathy#weslip#thekid#empathy#jesuswould”.

Akuapem Poloo sentenced to 90 days imprisonment

Ghanaian actress, Rosemond Alade Brown popularly known as Akuapem Poloo has been slapped with a 90-day jail sentence after being guilty of nude photo with son. 

The judgement was given on Friday, April 16 by an Accra Circuit Court. The single mother pleaded guilty to all three counts, one of which is publication of obscene material in 2020.

According to the prosecution, on June 30 2020, Rosemond celebrated her son’s seventh birthday by taking nude pictures together with her son who was also half-naked. She posted the pictures on her Instagram page which went viral on social media.
