I was pained when my son openly shared his gay status - broadcaster KKD

Ghanaian broadcaster, Kwesi Kyei Darkwa says he was pained when his son came out as gay. 

The broadcaster son Kweku Darkwa Kyei Darkwa in 2017 made a shocking revelation about his sexual orientation in a written article titled “To Be Young Gifted Black And Queer”, Queer simply means gay. In an article, he stated he was gay but has had difficult times coming out about his sexuality blaming it on the kind of upbringing he got.

When this news broke out was quite an issue here in Ghana especially because of KKD’s status in the country. This morning on Daybreak Hitz, he said “as a father, the first thing is that, l was pained. As a father, the first thing l did was to draw the attention from him unto me, because l would rather take the arrows that are meant for my child than to let those arrows go to my child”.

According to him, he had a conversation with his son because he was an adult at the time. “You have let an adult be who they want to be”, he added.

Natalie Fort resigns from TV3 after 4 years with the firm

TV3 news presenter, Natalie Fort, has resigned from the media firm with immediate effect from April 5, 2021.

Natalie Fort announced her resignation on her instagram page but didn’t state the reason why she resigned. However, she thanked Management of Media General for she expressed her gratitude to her former employers for the years she spent there. 

“RESIGNATION NOTICE | As I resign from TV3 with effect from 5th April 2021, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Management of Media General for an incredible 4 years with the firm.

I am grateful for the platform to kickstart my Media journey, the opportunities granted me have been transformative; and to my colleagues I’m honoured to have learnt from such an experienced team.

The memories will forever remain with me.
