FULL STORY: Why Rapper Guru Has Not Won A VGMA Award In The Last 12yrs

Ghanaian rapper, Guru, has revealed that he has made a positive impact when it comes to the Ghana Music Industry but has still not won the VGMA award. 

Speaking in an interview on Adom Entertainment Hall, the artiste started throwing questions to himself, what is the problem, what is going on, what is the affiliation with him and the board, who represents who, who is being part of the board?. According the him, the song “Kasiebo” Obrafour featuring Guru created a huge “beef” between him and some other people.

“There were controversies surrounding some of the top notch artistes felt he Guru has disrespected them” he said. To him he feels if you have a record label or manage any artiste or have affiliation with an artiste, you do not qualify to be on the VGMA board and you do not decide of any artiste. “When l picked my pieces, that is when l got to know”. 

Guru also revealed that, back then he performed on Joy FM’s old school reunion but noticed things did not go well with his fans so he questioned his fans “whatsapp”, then they said the problem was from the DJ Nii Aryee. Nii Aryee felt disrespected and told him point blank that he Nii Aryee made “Lapaz Toyota” to be taken off nomination. Guru was shocked when Nii Aryee revealed to him that he was the brain behind his “Lapaz Toyota” not being nominated.

Ten years later, he went to StarFM then Nii Aryee apologized for what he did on air. A key member from the VGMA board met him back stage and said now you are happy and won’t worry us anymore and he felt was the award for compensation for all those years. “Then l realized there was a huge problem between Empire record label and CharterHouse”. To him in other to resolve the “Kasiebo” issues, he decided to play free shows for some artistes (Obour and Okyeame Kwame). 

The artiste further stated that, most of the DJ’s said he is disrespectful and will not play his music. It also to a point that some presenters keeps giving him “body language” when he goes into radio or tv interview. Please watch the video below.

Stonebwoy Finally Meets Agiecoat, Gifts Him A Car

Ghanaian reggae dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy, and his number one fan, Ayisha Modi, has gifted a brand new Toyota Corolla to popular producer who was behind most hit songs in Ghana years back, Agiecoat. 

His biological name is known as, Nana Ansah Mensah and has worked with majority of artiste in the creative arts industry. In a video sighted by fredericknuetei.com, on Zionfelix Instagram page, Stonebwoy together with his number one fan were seen presenting the car to Agiecoat who according to Stonebwoy has really helped majority of artiste.

In the presentation, Stonebwoy had this to stay: “l have heard his name several time but l have not seen him before, the time that we were coming up and underground when we hear their name, we know that when they hold us we can also breakthrough. Little did they know that the system would change to mp3 etc.

God being so good, we also used the little we had and opportunities that we got up to this point”. He further stated that, most of these industry players who have helped some of them are not really in good shape so if there is any help, they can come together to help these people because he is not the only one he has helped though. 

“We have to do this though things are tight due to coronavirus. With the help of myself, Ayisha Modi and Livingston Foundation if our father is riding in this big car he would remember his son whom he started working with and through that he would be blessed”.
