Innovation from the youth is always a welcome concept. Over the weekend, we had the opportunity to interview the 18-year-old BECE graduate who manufactured his own car which was trending on the internet.

As future leaders, the youth are key to development and kelvin’s innovative idea took over the internet some few past days. Kelvin Odartei is his biological name who started his early childhood school at Salvation, continued to Teacher Mota in Osu and finally completed at Chantan M/A Experimental Basic School. Looking at his age, one would like to know why he is now completing Junior High School. According to him, because his parents separated it really affected his education because he was being taken from one school to another which prolong his education.

Well, building a car from spare parts and scraps, he has shown talent, perseverance and skill. Kelvin’s inspiration was built on he seeing airplanes and cars moving around and he tasked himself that he can also built his own car. He then started with an airplane but it was not able to fly up high but he was not discouraged by that, with perseverance and hard work he manufactured his own car. “am a guy who always love making crafts and am inter in cars so l decided to build something for myself. I was home one day an l saw an airplane passing and something told me that yo can do it, try hard.

The Bible says there is nothing in this world you cannot do unless you did not make a move so l decided to work hard and build something”. In terms of financing his project, Kelvin had the support of his friends who contributed an amount to support him but along the line some fell off the line due to financial constraints. The project involves huge capital and since they are students, their parents may not be able to help them in that direction let alone use their feeding money to finance it.
