Elikem receives backlash after advising actors to get a day job while thanking producers for not paying well

Elikem Kumordzie commonly known as Elikem The Tailor is a Ghanaian actor, fashion designer and master of ceremonies. In 2013 Kumordzie came third on the reality TV show Big Brother Africa, representing Ghana.

Elikem has acquired backlash after he thanked Ghanaian producers for the instances they did not pay him for a job and mentioned it motivated him to get a day job. He then requested different Ghanaian actors to get day jobs too and cease counting on simply appearing.

The Big Brother Africa star, who used to be married to co-star Pokello, took to Instagram to narrate how producers used him as an errand boy earlier than they gave him roles. He mentioned he was generally by no means paid and his pleasure was simply that he obtained featured in a film.

He added that the truth that he wasn’t paid most instances, and when he was paid it was peanuts, pressured him to get a aspect job and he’s grateful for it at the moment. He mentioned if producers hadn’t handled him that manner, he would have been lazy and would have relied on only one job.

He captioned the video: “Letter to my Fellow Actors. STOP complaining. leave the producers alone. find a day job. and see who they will shoot with .”

Well, this angered numerous Ghanaians and they called him out for encouraging producers not to pay actors.

Actors Juliet Ibrahim and James Gardiner are among those who called him out.

Following the outrage, Elikem released another video to explain himself. He said his statement was not directed at veteran Ghanaian actor Kofi Ajorlolo even though it came after Kofi Adjorlolo’s outburst that some Ghanaian movie producers don’t pay actors.

He went on to apologize to Ajorlolo, adding that he didn’t mean any malice when he gave the advice that actors should have a day job.

He said in the video: “I want to apologise to Kofi Ajorlolo, I respect him as a father, I sincerely apologise if it came across as if I was debunking his statement or going against what he said…”

He added in the caption: “An Apology also to Kofi Adjololo. Let’s come together as Actors. Let’s not complain.”

Ghanaian music star, Shatta Wale claims popular music producer, MOG Beatz came to him and told him his mother is blind so he should help him. 

According to Shatta Wale, he was just sorting him out because of what he told him. For him, the upcoming young ones should be careful because they send Beatz to Sarkodie, Stonebwoy and others to use their beatz.

Rapper Obibini pleads with President Nana Akufo-Addo to fast-track Covid-19 vaccines for entertainers

Rapper Obibini has pleaded with President Nana Akufo-Addo to help entertainers on the country get their COVID-19 vaccines early. 

This comes after the President and his Vice, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia and their wives injected the vaccine on Monday 1 March, 2021.
