Dancer Adjetey Sowah Speaks On The Controversial Origin Of Azonto Dance. See What He Said

When Azonto came up, everybody started jumping on the trend and a conversation sprouted and a lot of people were talking about how Gasmilla was the originator of the dance.

A lot of people were like no, its a dance which is danced by Sarkodie, some also say its a dance from James-Town around the sea. Some also say, Azonto has been there ever since and has come back again. In an interview monitored by fredericknuetei.com, Adjetey Sowah who won the “Malibu” dance championship in the 80’s clarified whether or not the dance was from the 80’s as the people insinuated.

Here is his reaction; “like now, some of the dancing back in the days just polish it. When you see the dance, you this is the dance but not all. I think Azonto came out from Ga area, where most of the guys, they just do it when they are full of whatever, they just want to do some dance which is quite different”.
