Cwesi Oteng Narrates How Change Of Name Affected His Brand, Paid A Heavily Price

Gospel singer, Cwesi Oteng, has revealed how the spelling of his name Kwesi with the K and Kwesi with the C which is quite different has affected him.

According to the “God Dey Bless Me” hitmaker in an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz. He explained that 13 years ago when he went on Facebook to register an account, there were a lot of Kwesi Oteng so he chose to use Kwesi with the C to stand out from the rest (differentiate himself).

However, his friends were still calling him Kwesi with the K. Andy asked him if he faced any issues due to the spelling of his name, he said yes but he was willing to pay the price because not everyone could find him but now when he goes on Facebook he sees everybody using the Kwesi with the C.

He also talked about remixing some of his songs with rapper Sarkodie and others and further expressed disappointment in Ghanaians for always hailing international acts and failing to support and pay local acts for their work.

Joe Mettle Comments On The Clash Between Supporters Of The NPP And NDC In James Town

The heat is catching on as yesterday a peace walk by supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) turned violent in James Town in the Odododiodio Constituency on Sunday morning.

A number of video’s widely shared on social media platforms, it shows supporters of the two main parties throwing bottles as well as pelting stones at each other. Award winning musician, Joe Mettle who grew up in the neighborhood was extremely sad and had this to say about violent clash. 

“I’m surprised abit because we are more like a peaceful people and easily relate and flow with each other so this is a big surprise to me. Ghana is the only place we can be, we have no where else to go. Make sure that every decision you take, make Ghana first, why will you go after your brother or sister as a result a party difference.

What ever it is, we can always talk and go through it to come to an amenable understanding”, he said. He also pleaded with the people to desist from violent behaviors because it will not take us anywhere.
