, Clap for Sarkodie, it’s a wake-up call – Shatta Wale sings Sarkodie’s praises after he went berserk on the media, Frederick Nuetei

Shatta Wale, as some of us expected, has applauded Sarkodie after he uncharastically went berserk on the media for the unnecessary pressure they put on Ghanaian artistes to meet a prescribed expectation hinged on the success of Nigerian artistes.

In case you missed it, www.Ghbase.com previously reported that Sarkodie went on the offensive in a recent interview premised on the constant trolling he is sometimes subjected to by music fans who complain that despite his supremacy locally, he and most mainstream artists like Shatta Wale do not make waves internationally as compared to their Nigerian counterparts.

The boss of the Sark Natives has observed that some radio personalities have also joined the bandwagon by slamming them for being local champions and not spreading their tentacles.

Responding, Sarkodie emphasized that local radio presenters have no moral right to criticize artists over the foregoing when they equally have their fame grounded within the confines of Ghana only.

“It is easy for someone to sit on the radio and say that Shatta Wale or Sarkodie didn’t do this or that. I know that we the artists have things we should do because every time there is a step but if you are on a Ghanaian radio for close to 20 years and you’ve not moved to a platform like Choice or BBC, I don’t think you have the moral right to talk about Ghanaian artistes who have not moved,” said Sarkodie recently in a video.

While reacting to the foregoing, Shatta Wale suggested Sarkodie’s outburst is in line with his (Wale) crusade all this while that he has been championing for a change in the music industry.

, I Don’t Allow People In My Personal Space, It’s The Reason I Am Always Misunderstood Burna Boy, Frederick Nuetei

Grammy award winner, Damini Ogulu better known as Burna Boy, has said he’s grossly misunderstood by people and it’s his fault!
Speaking in a recent interview with a British magazine ‘Dazed’, the 31-year-old singer said a lot of people don’t understand him because he has never given the public a chance to know and understand his personality.

The self-styled ‘African Giant’, who leads a quiet life and majorly shares things about his career and performance on local and global stages, said he tried to use his latest album ‘Love, Damini’ to give people a glimpse into his life.
His words,

“I tend to be misunderstood and the reason is that I have never really given anyone a chance to know who I am, and that’s what I tried to do.”
“I tried to use this album to allow people to get closer to me.”
“My music will be here long after I’m gone, even after my children’s children. It’s a stamp in time for those who have a reality like mine”
Speaking further, Burna Boy, a global music art, said he dislikes interviews because it tends to be a lose-lose situation for him.
“Whatever I say, even if it’s the truth, you guys will spin it,” he added.

The ‘dancehall king inna di whole’ was absent on the night when two of Ghana’s finest collections of ‘S’ musicians impressed attendees of the Global Citizen Festival.

According to Ruthy, the absence of Shatta Wale at the Global Citizen Festival is a clear sign of sabotage and hatred on the part of the so-called industry gatekeeper and players.

Consequently, she feels the hatred for Shatta Wale has become so real that he was not billed to perform at the biggest musical event ever in Ghana for the past decade – Global Citizen Festival.
