Benjamin Azamati breaks world 100m record under ten seconds

Ghanaian sprinter, Benjamin Azamati has for the first time set up a new National record after making a time of 9.97s at the Texas relays. 

He now breaks the Ghanaian 100m record of 9.98 set back in 1999 by Leo Myles-Mills, to book a ticket to the Tokyo 2021 Olympics. He is only 23 yrs old.

He becomes the 3rd Ghanaian athlete to book a ticket to Tokyo after 100m and 200m runner Joseph Paul Amoah and triple jump athlete Nadia Eke. Congratulations to him.

Jerome Boateng to leave Bayern Munich after 10 years with the club

German club, Bayern Munich, has confirmed that defender, Jerome Boateng will leave the club at the end of the season. 

After a decade with the club, his contract runs out at the end of the season and it won’t be renewed, meaning he will be on free transfer. “Jerome’s contract expires in the summer. It will not be extended,” the club sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic told Sky in Germany 

“That was a joint decision of the club management and the coach was also involved. I explained that to Jerome and he was very understanding. He leaves through a big door – hopefully with titles.”

Boateng has played 31 games for Bayern this season, scoring two goals for the Bundesliga leaders.

Thomas Tuchel suffers first defeat as Chelsea manager in 7 goal thriller

Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel has suffered his first defeat at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, April 3, 2021 as West Brom beat them by 5-2. 

West Brom, fighting for their lives in the relegation battle played  brilliant football against Chelsea in the Blues’ own backyard. Two goals from Matheus Pereira flipped the game in first half stoppage time, before Callum Robinson made it 3-1 and Mbaye Diagne added the fourth goal for West Brom.

Mason Mount scored what proved to be a consolation goal to make it 4-2, and with 20 minutes left, Chelsea fans hoped their side could mount a comeback. But the Blues were set for misery as Robinson scored again leaving the score at 5- 2 full time.
