Absa Bank Ghana introduces Africanacity: New attitude for a new brand #WeLoveAfricanacity

Published

on

Absa Bank Ghana (formerly Barclays Bank) today unveiled ‘Africanacity’, a force that will drive and inspire their commitment to continuously work towards bringing the possibilities of customers and Ghanaians to life.

The name change to Absa Bank Ghana marks the start of a new era for the bank’s operations, as it adopts its parent company Absa Group’s brand and ambition to become a proudly forward-looking African bank with global reach and fit for the digital age.

‘Africanacity’ was created by Absa as a bespoke word defined as “the distinctly African ability to always find a way to get things done”. It defines the bank’s new purpose – to bring possibility to life, and describes a longstanding way of doing things, that is unique to the continent.

Africanacity will be the driving force that defines Absa, serving to continually inspire the desired culture that creates opportunities for its customers to make ‘what is possible’ real and a force that makes a real and lasting contribution to its customers and the societies in which the bank operates.

“Africa is a continent of doers, always going above and beyond to get things done. We are inspired by this spirit that thrives on turning every challenge into an opportunity, and, as an independent African bank, we are determined to support the continent’s bright future. Absa is brave, passionate and ready to bring our customers’ possibilities to life,” said Nana Essilfuah Boison, Marketing & Corporate Relations Director of Absa Bank Ghana.

The bank said it acknowledges and celebrates this spirit of Africanacity that thrives on turning every challenge into an opportunity.

“Life on our continent is full of obstacles and opportunities and we believe that everyone needs a financial partner who will help them overcome the obstacles or to take advantage of the opportunities in their lives. From our colleagues and customers to every Ghanaian, Africanacity is a call to action for everyone. It’s what drives and inspires everything Absa Bank Ghana believes in. It drives this beautiful country that we have served for over 100 years and committed to serve with greater passion for many more years to come,” said Nana Essilfuah Boison.

Our Body Politics Today Has Turn To Be Lies, Deception And Celebration Of Mediocrity - Isaac Ashai Odamtten

On 25th of October 2020, the President of the country visited Tema East just to commission one of the oldest trotro station’s in Tema comm.1.

Mind you its an already existing trotro station and not newly constructed for the good people of Tema East and it’s only pavement bricks and painting that was done to renovate the old trotro station and was commissioned but since the President has admonished us, Ghanaians to be citizens not a spectators. I want to base on this statement to ask our MP and the deputy minister that what stoped him as a deputy minister for transport from converting the Tema Comm.1 trotro station into an ultra-moden lorry park like what his fellow MP and Minister for fisheries has done for her people at Krowor constituency?.

It is undoubtedly, our MP didn’t factor the essence of value for money for the project beacuse all his attention was presenting mediocre projects to the constituents for vote. Even if this mediocre achievement is what to go by, is it befitting for a deputy minister of transport if you want to develop a lorry station for your constituents you couldn’t upgrade the lorry station into something well befitting? Obviously, this is a clear indication of wasted vote for a two term sitting member of parliament and we cannot afford to continue wasting our votes.

According to the MP aspirant, reviewing and promoting laws and regulations relating to businesses engaged in the local economy of the Tema East Constituency will be his priority aimed at creating jobs for the youth.  Nii Ashai will pay attention to economic activities such as industries and institutions; fishermen, fishmongers and fish-processors; market women, artisans and traders; and localized brigades in Tema East to expand and create the needed jobs for his constituents when elected as the MP.

“Tema requires an effective interface for the Industrial, residential and Harbour activities. When well managed the needed jobs will be created. Tema East is also a fishing community and I will involve all stakeholders especially those at the fishing and main harbour to find lasting solutions to the problems of the fishing industry”

As indicated by him, an Outboard Motor sold at GHc12,000.00 was subsidized by Hon. Isaac Ashai Odamtten to GHc 6000.00 as at December 2016. However, now it sells at over GHc20,000.00 due to bad governance. Other fishing inputs are not only difficult to come by but also very expensive.

The former Mayor and now Parliamentary Candidate for the NDC assures that a John Dramani Mahama and Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyeman led administration will help him (as MP) to promote local economy development to create more jobs for the citizenry especially the youth of Tema.
